Meet Our Doctors

Risa Moore, DVM

Dr. Moore was born right here in Florida, where she has lived her whole life. She became interested in animal care and veterinary medicine in middle school, when she was a competitive horseback rider in dressage. She is a 1986 graduate of the University of Florida College of Liberal Arts with High Honors and a 1990 graduate of University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Moore has been the owner of Affordable PetCare Hospital since moving to Naples in 1992. She prides herself on a thorough examination of each patient, followed by clear and helpful communication with the pet’s parent on the best course of treatment or preventive medicine for their pet. She enjoys attending conferences and continuing educational seminars to ensure she is up to date on the latest trends and breakthroughs in veterinary medicine. Dr. Moore is currently enrolled in the International Veterinary Dentistry Institute’s Program to become certified after over 50 hours of continuing education hours, including live lab exams. She is currently the treasurer of the Collier County Veterinary Society and has long-standing memberships in the AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association), FVMA (Florida Veterinary Medical Association), AVDS (American Veterinary Dental Society), and IVAPM (International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management). She is an Accredited Veterinary by APHIS for Category 1 animals and a Free Fear Certified Professional (fearfreepets.com). Dr. Moore has made Naples, FL her home with her husband, Darren, since 1992. She is very proud of her three grown children. In her spare time, she likes to spend time with family and friends, do her almost daily workouts, and do hot yoga.

Tripp Cappelmann, DVM

Dr. Cappelmann “Dr. Capp” grew up in South Carolina and graduated from the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia. Dr. Capp is passionate about both medicine and surgery and offering the absolute best care for all small animal patients. In his free time he enjoys spending time doing outdoor activities with his family like hiking, fishing, and going to the beach. He is thrilled to join this great team and excited for all that southwest Florida has to offer!

Dane Ratajski, DVM

Although originally from Baltimore, Dr. Ratajski achieved his undergraduate degree at Auburn University in Alabama. After various pursuits (including spending four years umpiring Minor League Baseball!), Dr. Ratajski ventured down to veterinary school at Ross University on the island of St. Kitts. While in the clinic, Dr. Ratajski most enjoys internal medicine and surgery. Outside the clinic, Dr. Ratajski is an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, kayaking, snowboarding, hiking, and camping. Dr. Ratajski loves to travel, and has been to 45 states and 21 countries.

What To Expect

We at Affordable Petcare Hospital in Naples have assembled an expert team of veterinary professionals to bring you the best possible healthcare for your pet. We have a state-of-the-art veterinary facility which is clean, comfortable, and efficient. Call 239-774-3555 to schedule an appointment and we will find a time that is convenient for you.

Once a year, you should take your pet in for a check-up. This will include a full physical exam and may include teeth and gum cleaning if needed. We will check the health of your pet from head to tail, and you will be very happy you came to Affordable Petcare Hospital for service.

Bring in any medical history you have of your pet when you come to our vet clinic. It’s best to keep a journal of your pet’s health throughout his or her life, including behavioral shifts. If you have something like this, share it with our team. If not, let us know everything that you think will be important. We can still work with whatever information you have.

In some circumstances, we will refer you to a specialist who has advanced expertise in areas such as internal medicine or surgery.

Our Policies

Appointments

For your convenience, we offer “drop-off” appointments. A “drop off” means you could bring your pet at the time that works best for you and leave him/her with us for a couple of hours. Once the doctor has examined your pet, she/he will give you a call to go over the exam findings. You will then be instructed as to what time to pick up your pet.

For your protection and the safety of others, we require that pets be placed on a leash and properly controlled or in pet carriers while in the waiting room and exam room.

Payment Programs

When unexpected illness strikes a pet, unexpected expense strikes as well. Affordable Petcare Hospital understands this and is able to make some special arrangements through the CareCredit program. It takes just 5 minutes to complete an application and will allow you to break down your payment into 6 monthly installments. You can either apply at our hospital, where we’ll call in your application over the phone for immediate approval, or apply yourself online at: www.CareCredit.com.

Payment Options

Payment is expected when services are rendered. In order to focus on our patients’ needs, customer service and minimizing costs, we do not bill.

We accept debit cards, credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express) ITEX Checks and cash. All cards must be signed by the owner of the card.
